The Creativity Cure is a five-part Plan to Build Happiness and Alleviate Stress.
What is the Creativity Cure?
The Creativity Cure is a do-it-yourself prescription for happiness and overcoming mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and discontent. It will help you to understand yourself in a deeper way and give you tools for inner satisfaction. The Creativity Cure can help you have a greater number of happy moments and a more satisfying existence by teaching you how to develop Creative Capacity. Creative Capacity involves accessing your unconscious mind.
Why is access to the deeper mind (the unconscious) important?
The unconscious reveals true feelings, desires, fears, and interests. When you know, own, and use what goes on in the depths of your being–your truth–life is richer and more livable. Your unconscious mind opens up possibilities.
When you have self-awareness, you make better choices about how to be most effective, what to get involved in, and whom to be with. Being open to thoughts that arise in random moments and being curious about them is useful. Rather than blocking them out, shutting them down, or judging them, seeing where they take you can help you understand yourself, others, and your world in a deeper way.

How can I cultivate a creative self?
To start your PP, you need to commit about an hour a day for the prescription.
- 10 minutes for insight.
- 15 minutes for movement.
- 5 minutes for mind rest.
- 20 minutes for your own two hands.
- 10 minutes for mind shift.
Over the next seven weeks, you will gradually increase the time to two hours. Learn what makes you feel more alive–contemplation or physical action. After a forty-nine day deep immersion, you will have developed some great new habits.
It is important to remember that all five components of the 5PP are crucial–the curative agent is in the chemistry. So making time for every step is important. Ideally, you will follow the order of actions laid out above, because each step prepares you for the next. After Insight you will practice Movement, Mind Rest, your Own Two Hands. These prepare you for a psychological change involved in Mind Shift. You can do the 5PP all in one hour, or you can break it up and fit the steps into your day as needed.
However, in the interest of Creative Capacity–that is, fluid thinking, receptivity, and autonomy–you can mix up the order and switch steps around to fit into the corners of a packed day. You can be open-minded and do it your way, which is the overall point of the Creative Cure: to access your original spontaneous, vibrant self.
