Are we free to choose?
The only way that has ever discovered to have a lot of people cooperate together voluntary is through the free market. And that’s why is so essential to preserving individual freedom.
There was a time when I wanted to publish my book on my own.
But it wasn’t a choice.
There was a time when I wanted my self-published books into bookstores.
But it wasn’t a choice.
There was a time when I wanted to enroll in a kindle Matchbook program. (The kindle matchbook program offers customers who purchase, or have purchased a print book to purchase the kindle version of that title for $2,99 or less.)
But it wasn’t a choice.
When there’s a lack, people create. They are free to create. So thanks to Mr. Amazon, Mr. Uber, Mr. Lyft, Mr. Airbnb, people can choose. Perhaps lobbies who have private interests don’t want you to choose. They set up government regulation to benefit them. They want the whole pie. And as Milton Friedman once said, who protects the consumer? There are tons of consumers who don’t want to choose, but DEMAND to choose. They demand FREEDOM to choose.
You want to walk. You walk.
You want to ride a bicycle. You ride a bicycle.
You want to hail a cab. You take a cab.
You want to share a ride with a friend. You do Uber.
You want to publish your book traditionally. You go after the traditional publishing.
You want to self-publish. You self-publish your book.
You want to combine self-publishing with traditional publishing. You do hybrid publishing.
You choose.
The marketplace decides.
