Each person comes into this world with a specific destiny–He has something to fulfill, some message has to be delivered, some work has to be completed. You are not here accidentally–You are here meaningfully. The whole intends to do something through you.
Creativity is a handbook for those who understand the need to bring more creativity, playfulness, and flexibility to their lives. Here are 5 obstacles to the creative path:
1. Self-consciousness
People enjoy doing hard things. Because when you face a hard thing your ego becomes sharp; there is a challenge. To whom is it a challenge? To the ego.
Drop de conflict. If you are miserable, you and only you are responsible. Neither the past nor the social structure nor the economic system –nothing is going to help.
To know the real self is arduous; one has to travel long to arrive home. One has to knock on many doors before one comes to the right door.
2. Perfectionism
The artist is the most egoistic person in the world: everybody thinks that he is the first and the last. The real creator knows that he has not created anything. Existence has worked through him. It has possessed him, his hands, his being, and it has created something through him. He has been instrumental. This is real art, where the artist disappears. Then there is no question of ego.
Try to do something perfect and it will remain imperfect. Do it naturally and it’s always perfect.
3. Intellect
Mind is never original, cannot be. No-mind is original, fresh, young.
Spontaneity is the fragrance of no-mind.
Intelligence needs tremendous courage, intelligence needs and adventurous life. You are always going into the unknown, people feel insecure with the unknown.
4. Belief
Anything can be creative. Creativity is the quality that you bring to the activity you are doing. It is the person who is creative.
LOVE what you do. Be meditative while you are doing it. Enjoy, celebrate it! History will not take any account of it, newspapers will not publish your name and picture, but that is irrelevant. You enjoyed it.
If fame happens, good. If it doesn’t happen, good. The consideration should be that you are enjoying whatsoever you are doing it is your love affair.
When ambition enters, creativity disappears.
5. The fame game
We are taught that unless there is recognition we are nobody, we are worthless.
You should work not to be recognized, but because you enjoy being creative; you love the work for its own sake. You work if you love it, don’t ask for recognition.
Do you love your work? If you don’t, then change it.
